On the morning of November 3, 2025, a devastating road accident occurred on the Mirjaguda-Khanapur road near Chevella, resulting in the tragic loss of 17 lives, including a three-month-old infant. The mishap took place around 7:30 AM on the Vikarabad-Hyderabad stretch when a lorry reportedly rammed into an RTC bus while attempting to overtake a two-wheeler.
According to a senior officer from the Cyberabad police, the preliminary investigation indicates that the speeding lorry lost control in its bid to overtake the two-wheeler, leading to the collision with the RTC bus (TS 34 TA 6354). Sixteen bodies were immediately shifted to the Area Hospital in Chevella, and another body was recovered around 9 AM, bringing the total fatalities to 17.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene to clear the debris and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. The accident disrupted traffic on the stretch for over two hours as authorities worked to investigate the incident and determine any possible negligence that may have contributed to the tragic collision.
