A festive return from a Ganga bath turned tragic on Sunday when a DJ-laden tractor trolley carrying 50 individuals overturned near Budhi Ganga at Dhalghat. The incident, attributed to overspeeding, resulted in the death of a 10-year-old boy and injuries to 11 others. The group from village Milikiya Paharpur in the Nawabganj police station area was traveling in two tractor-trolleys when the accident occurred late in the evening.
Eyewitnesses and police reports suggest a dangerous race between the drivers of the two trolleys led to the catastrophe. The DJ-equipped trolley, with over a dozen youths dancing on it, lost control and overturned on the road. Emergency services, including police and ambulances, arrived promptly to transport the injured to a Community Health Centre. Dr. Aleem confirmed the death of young Ritik, aged 10, and referred a critically injured 12-year-old girl to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for advanced care.
