- 6-meter python pulls him underwater and wraps around his neck
- Crew members wrestle python to free Heru from its grasp

On November 10, 2025, an experienced tour guide in Borneo, Indonesia, had a terrifying encounter with a massive python that nearly cost him his life. Heru, a seasoned snake catcher, was part of a group traveling down a river when they spotted a 6-meter python resting near the riverbank.
Heru reached into the water to grab the snake near its head, but the python quickly reacted, pulling the guide off the boat and into the water. In the terrifying footage, Heru can be seen disappearing beneath the surface as the snake coiled itself around his neck.
The boat crew, who initially laughed at Heru's fall, immediately sprang into action to rescue their guide. It took two men, one holding the python's head and another its tail, to finally free Heru from the snake's powerful grasp. Remarkably, Heru emerged unscathed from the ordeal.
The group later captured the massive python, which they described as the "biggest and strongest" they had ever encountered. After taking photos with the snake, they released it back into the wild unharmed. Borneo is home to several species of pythons, including the Reticulated python, which can grow up to 6 meters in length.
