The incident happened while Navpreet was on an electric scooter with her mother, Poonam Kaur. They had parked by the roadside when the truck, which was parked nearby, reversed and struck their scooter, throwing them to the ground. Navpreet was run over by the truck's rear wheel and died instantly.
Poonam Kaur sustained minor injuries in the collision. Onlookers present at the scene managed to apprehend the truck driver immediately after the accident. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and taking further action against the driver.
