A two-year-old girl, Eva-Rose Wainwright, has died in a tragic drowning incident on farmland in Lifton, Devon. The incident occurred on June 16, 2023, when her father, Charles Wainwright, was attending to livestock.
He had left Eva-Rose playing with a family dog near a shallow, slow-moving river. Tragically, he returned between 15 and 20 minutes later to find her unresponsive in the water.
Despite the best efforts of her father and paramedics, Eva-Rose could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene. An inquest concluded her death was accidental.
