12 Jan
Summary
- A two-year-old girl tragically died after falling into a pond.
- Her family performed CPR for 25 minutes before emergency services arrived.
- The incident occurred at her family home on Christmas Day.

A two-year-old girl, Isobel Abigail Maxwell, tragically lost her life on Christmas Day after falling into a pond at her family's Doncaster home. The toddler had been playing happily with toys when she disappeared from view, leading to the discovery of her in the pond.
Her distraught family immediately commenced CPR, continuing for 25 minutes until paramedics arrived and transported her to Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Sadly, her death was confirmed at the hospital later that afternoon. The incident was reported to South Yorkshire Police by the ambulance service, who requested assistance due to the child being in cardiac arrest.
Following the tragic accident, Isobel's mother expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, including a fundraiser to create a memorial fairy garden. The family aims to remember Isobel for her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought, rather than her untimely passing. A full inquest into the incident is scheduled for September 14.
