Thermos is initiating a massive recall of 8.2 million products following numerous reports of user injuries. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall, citing concerns over products that may cause impact injuries and lacerations. Specific models involved include Thermos Stainless King 3000, 3020 Food Jars, and Thermos Sportsman 3010 Food & Beverage Bottles.
These recalled Thermos items were sold nationwide, including in Washington State, through major retailers like Walmart and Target, as well as directly from Thermos and Amazon. The recall covers products purchased from March 2008 through July 2024.
So far, 27 incidents have been reported where stoppers forcefully ejected upon opening. These incidents resulted in users being hit or sustaining cuts. Tragically, three individuals reportedly suffered permanent vision loss after being struck in the eye. Consumers with affected products are advised to return them or contact Thermos for a replacement part to prevent further injury.
