A significant collision occurred in Scottsdale on December 2nd when a Tesla traveling the wrong way struck a dump truck head-on. The crash happened just before noon in a residential area near Cactus Road and 74th Street, prompting a response from the Scottsdale Police Department.
According to police, the Tesla veered left across the center median, entering the westbound lanes of Cactus Road. The impact propelled the dump truck sideways, causing it to sideswipe a Nissan Maxima before crashing into a block wall belonging to a nearby home. Both the Tesla and dump truck drivers sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening and were transported to a local hospital.
Investigators have indicated that speed and impairment did not appear to be contributing factors to the crash. The driver of the Tesla received citations for driving left of the center median and failing to control speed.
