A Philadelphia teenager's quick thinking and courage saved a life last month. Jaheim Warner was walking home when he saw a woman in a pickup truck appearing to have a seizure, with the vehicle slowly moving toward a busy intersection. Realizing the danger, Warner located a pipe and used it to break the truck's back window. He then squeezed through the opening to reach the driver's seat, put the truck in park, and stayed with the distressed woman until emergency services arrived.
Warner's heroic act was recently recognized at his high school, Tacony Academy Charter, during a special ceremony attended by police and fire department officials. He received awards and applause for his bravery. His mother expressed immense pride, noting his lifelong desire to help others. Warner's commitment to emergency services continues as he is set to begin training with the Philadelphia Fire Explorers this Saturday.
