Tragic Crash Claims Teen Driver in Manitowoc County

A tragic motor vehicle accident on January 10th in Manitowoc County resulted in the death of a 17-year-old Sheboygan resident. The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. near the junction of State 57/32 and Cemetery Road.

Initial investigations suggest the young driver, operating a 2005 Buick LaCrosse southbound, lost control of her car. The vehicle then veered across the median, entering the northbound lanes, where it was struck by an oncoming 2002 GMC Yukon. The driver of the Yukon, a 65-year-old man from Port Washington, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has taken over the reconstruction of the crash to meticulously determine the sequence of events and contributing factors leading to this fatal collision. Further information was not immediately available.
