A tragic rollover crash early Sunday morning claimed the life of 18-year-old Tessa Walker, a senior at Park Hill High School in rural Missouri. The accident happened just after 4 a.m. when the BMW M4 carrying Walker and four other teens veered off Highway 45, subsequently flipping and catching fire. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and the three other passengers sustained varying injuries, with some reported as severe. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Platte County Sheriff's Office, and no charges have been filed. Walker was a vibrant student, excelling academically and participating in volleyball, flag football, and track. She was also an artist, writer, and volunteer, preparing to graduate and attend Northwest Missouri State University in the fall.
Walker's father, Drew, expressed his grief on social media, calling her death 'cruel.' She leaves behind her father and four siblings. A makeshift memorial with flowers has been placed at the crash site along MO 45 Highway. Friends and teachers remember Walker for her wit, smile, intelligence, and kindness, noting her resilience and positive impact on those around her. A candlelight vigil and a memorial service are scheduled in her honor.
