On the night of Saturday, September 5th, a terrifying police chase on Interstate 30 in Grand Prairie resulted in a teen's car being overturned. Ben Guthrie recounted receiving a distressing call from his 17-year-old daughter, whose vehicle was involved in the pursuit.
Authorities reported that a crash initiated the event, with one vehicle fleeing the scene and leading officers on a chase. The suspect's car then caused further collisions, impacting multiple vehicles, including the one carrying Guthrie's daughter and her friends returning from a concert.
At least seven people were taken for medical attention with non-life-threatening injuries. Guthrie arrived at the scene to find his daughter's car upside down, some 30 feet off the shoulder. Thankfully, his daughter, after being freed by a bystander, was found to be uninjured after medical evaluations.
The driver responsible for the chase was later arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and collision involving injury, as they were found to be intoxicated.
