A tragic incident occurred in north Spokane early Wednesday morning when a 40-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle. The driver, identified as Kaylee M. Peters, has been arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide. Authorities believe Peters was traveling eastbound on West Price Avenue when she hit a pedestrian who had stopped in the road with her dogs. The dogs were unharmed in the collision.
Emergency services transported the injured pedestrian to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Peters, who reported the incident herself and remained at the scene, was evaluated by deputies and a drug recognition expert.
