In Murach village, Panna district, a 19-year-old newlywed woman tragically passed away on Sunday morning after being bitten by a venomous snake. Sapna Bai Vanshkar was asleep when the snake bit her on the cheek around 2 am.
Her relatives reported that upon reaching the Gunaur health center, they found no doctor on duty. The family claims that health center staff, citing a lack of treatment and anti-snake venom, referred Sapna to the Panna district hospital.
Tragically, Sapna died on her way to the district hospital, where she was declared deceased by doctors. Her family asserted that timely medical intervention could have saved her life and demanded accountability from the concerned medical personnel.
Following her death, local villagers and family members gathered outside the Gunaur health center, protesting the alleged poor healthcare services. They blocked the main road, voicing their grievances and demanding action against the local MLA and the health department. Officials intervened to pacify the protesters and clear the blockade.
