Massive Fire Engulfs Smoky Mountains Theme Park
13 Feb
Summary
- Two barns and nearby structures were fully engulfed in flames.
- Firefighters worked to protect animals and prevent woodland spread.
- No first responders or animals sustained injuries in the blaze.

A significant fire broke out at SkyLand Ranch, a 100-acre amusement park nestled in Tennessee's Smoky Mountains, early on Friday, February 13, 2026. The incident, reported around 2:20 a.m. local time, saw two large barns and several smaller structures become fully engulfed in flames.
Emergency responders from Sevierville and Gatlinburg police departments, along with the Sevierville Fire Department, arrived swiftly. Their immediate priority was to move the park's animals to safety and contain the fire. The Tennessee Department of Forestry also assisted to mitigate any risk of the fire spreading into the surrounding woodland.
Fortunately, the quick actions of the fire department ensured that no first responders or animals were injured. The park owners were reportedly out of town at the time of the incident. While the animals were safe, the building housing them lost heat, necessitating the provision of additional heaters due to cold weather concerns.
The damaged barns are slated for demolition if they do not collapse on their own. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the mountain coaster and chairlift attractions were unaffected.
