Responders discovered the yacht smashed against rocks with debris in the water. Shouts for help led to the discovery of the skipper clinging to a steep cliff face, about 330ft above the sea.
Coastguard rope teams descended to reach the stranded individual, who was then assisted back to safety. A coastguard helicopter from Newquay, along with a paramedic, was instrumental in the rescue.
The casualty was treated by rescue teams at the cliff top before being flown to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Coastguards commended the public's swift 999 call, emphasizing its critical role in the positive outcome.
