Tragedy struck near Jamui railway station on Monday when two siblings, nine-year-old Vishal Kumar and his 16-year-old sister Karishma Kumari, died after falling from a moving train. The siblings were traveling with their mother, returning from Patna where they had been for labor work.
According to initial police reports, the mother stood near the train's gate with her two children before reaching Jamui station. The children suddenly lost their balance and fell from the moving train. Tragically, both succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The bodies were discovered approximately 15 feet from the railway track. Police have sent the bodies for postmortem examination and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. The family originally hails from Dumarkola in Jamui.
