Drunk Driver Kills Woman in Sheohar Ambulance Horror

A 60-year-old woman, Hridaya Devi, tragically lost her life in Sheohar district after being struck by a speeding 102 ambulance. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in the Rasidpur locality under the Town police station area.
Local residents reported that the woman was standing by the roadside when the ambulance hit her. She was rushed to the hospital but was unfortunately declared brought dead by medical personnel. The driver of the ambulance, identified as Subhash Singh, was apprehended by villagers at the scene. During initial questioning, Singh confessed to having consumed alcohol while on duty.
In response to the incident, family members and villagers staged a protest, blocking the Shivhar-Sitamarhi NH-227 for several hours. They demanded stringent action against the driver. Police officials, including Traffic DSP Bhai Bharat Kumar and Town SHO Randhir Kumar Singh, arrived to manage the situation and calm the protesters.
The ambulance, reportedly deployed for Mahashivratri arrangements at Dekuli Dham, was seized by authorities. The driver, a resident of Piprahi police station area, was taken into custody. The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the driver.
