A severe collision occurred on State 29 near Bonduel when a semitractor-trailer crashed into an actively plowing snowplow truck. The impact propelled the snowplow into the median, while the semitruck jack-knifed and ended up in a ditch. The driver of the semitruck, who became trapped, is believed to be seriously injured and was airlifted to a hospital.
The snowplow driver, though less severely injured, required assistance to exit their vehicle. The crash, which happened east of Bonduel near High Line Road, resulted in extensive damage to both vehicles and blocked multiple westbound lanes for several hours. Emergency services, including fire departments and ambulance crews, responded swiftly to the scene.
As of 3 p.m. on January 19, 2026, all affected westbound lanes on State 29 were reopened. The Wisconsin State Patrol is continuing its preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, focusing on why the semitruck driver failed to move over or stop.
