In Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, over 150 individuals became ill following a wedding feast. The incident, which occurred at Babadiya-Noabad village, involved around 1,200 guests who consumed the meal on Wednesday night.
Many attendees later reported symptoms such as severe stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. They were subsequently taken to the Ichhawar health center for treatment. Local officials alerted the district health department, prompting a swift medical response.
A medical team was dispatched to Ichhawar, and the district hospital declared an emergency. Two wards were designated for patients suspected of food poisoning. Officials have confirmed that all those admitted to hospitals are now out of danger.
Food samples from the wedding meal have been collected by a team led by the local Sub-Divisional Magistrate for laboratory testing. The hot weather might have contributed to the spoilage of the food served, according to local MLA Karan Singh Verma.
