In a harrowing incident on Tuesday morning, a private school van carrying young students overturned in the Katarniaghat forest area of Bahraich. The accident, which occurred near the Bichhiya forest barrier, left 12 schoolchildren injured, with one student suffering critical injuries. The van was reportedly speeding when it lost control and flipped onto the roadside.
The vehicle belonged to Bappa Ji School and was transporting children from villages situated near the Nepal border. These villages are tribal-dominated and include areas like Bardiya, Amba, Vishunapur, and Fakirpuri. The driver of the van also sustained injuries in the crash.
Eyewitnesses and local residents swiftly responded to the scene, providing immediate assistance. The injured children and the driver were transported to a nearby private medical practitioner for preliminary medical care. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
