The disaster has resulted in a tragic death toll of 1,365 people, with ongoing search operations for over 5,300 missing individuals, including foreign nationals. Nepal's President, Ramchandra Paudel, has urged the government to intensify rescue, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts. He also stressed the importance of international cooperation for major infrastructure projects.
President Paudel further advised enhancing search and rescue operations, noting the potential to still find survivors. He advocated for Nepal to voice concerns on international forums regarding climate change-induced loss and damage. The president also called for greater effectiveness in search and rescue missions.
