Riverside County firefighters engaged a significant brush fire, dubbed the Rider Fire, in the Mead Valley area near Perris on Tuesday afternoon. The incident was first reported around 1:30 p.m. near Rider Street.
Initially estimated at 10 acres, the fire experienced rapid growth. By 3:30 p.m., it had consumed approximately 115 acres of dry brush.
To combat the blaze, numerous firefighting air tankers were deployed from throughout California. The operation involved nearly 150 firefighters supported by two dozen fire engines.
The cause of the Rider Fire remains under active investigation. Authorities have confirmed no injuries have been reported, and it is currently unclear if any structures were threatened by the flames.
