- Designer suffered critical injuries after a bike taxi accident.
- Medical expenses have reportedly exceeded Rs 20 lakh.
- The injured designer accuses the company of abandoning her post-accident.

A harrowing bike taxi ride has left a 32-year-old interior designer with critical injuries and facing over Rs 20 lakh in medical expenses. The incident, which occurred on June 17, involved Sani Krishna, who booked a Rapido bike taxi for her daily commute. She alleges the rider’s attempt to overtake a tractor resulted in her being thrown from the motorcycle and run over by the tractor, causing severe injuries.
Initially hospitalized locally, Sani was later transferred to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru for multiple surgeries, and subsequently to Mithras Hospital in Kozhikode, Kerala, for rehabilitation. She has publicly accused Rapido of abandoning her and questioned the efficacy of their advertised women's safety features. Sani asserts that the company’s response to her legal notice was limited to automated emails about insurance claims.
Rapido has stated they are in contact with Sani, but she disputes this, claiming she is left to manage overwhelming treatment costs primarily through a Rs 1 lakh insurance payout. The case has gained significant traction on social media, with many expressing support and sharing similar grievances with ride-hailing services, demanding better passenger safety and post-accident support from such platforms.
