A section of a wall and a slab at an under-renovation shop on Dhole Patil Road in Pune unexpectedly collapsed on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in injuries to two workers. Fire brigade teams were promptly dispatched to the scene and successfully rescued the trapped individuals.
Krishna Chavan and Sachin Chavan, both 25 years old, suffered injuries to their legs, backs, and heads. They have been admitted to a nearby private hospital and are reported to be out of danger. The shop, previously an eatery, was being converted into a pharmacy by a Dubai-based businessman.
Pune Municipal Corporation officials visited the site and confirmed that the renovation work was undertaken without their permission. An FIR is expected to be filed, and authorities will investigate any contractor involvement and their whereabouts during the incident.
