Fleeing Driver Crashes Head-On, Escapes on Foot

Portland police are still searching for a driver who evaded authorities and caused a serious collision on Friday night. The incident began around 7:45 p.m. when officers attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Southeast Stark Street.
The alleged driver sped away from officers, crossing into the opposing lane and striking another car head-on near Southeast 148th Avenue. Following the crash, the suspect abandoned their vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Authorities conducted a search but did not make any immediate arrests. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The occupants of the vehicle that was hit were not injured, but their car suffered substantial damage and was subsequently towed.
