Police Car Smashes Into Sydney Home Twice

A police car responding to an emergency call in Sydney's Guildford West veered out of control, crashing into a family home in nearby Merrylands shortly before 5 PM on Monday. The out-of-control vehicle caused extensive damage, including a partially collapsed garage, making the house unlivable. CCTV footage captured the dramatic moment the police wagon lost control near a speed bump and collided with the residence.

Homeowners Frank and Sylvia were inside when the crash occurred. They expressed shock and anger, with Sylvia describing the sound as 'a bomb coming through the roof' and questioning the police response. The couple has been forced to seek alternative accommodation while repairs are arranged.

This incident is particularly concerning as it is the second time in two years that a police vehicle has crashed into their home. A previous collision occurred in 2024 when a car struck their front fence during a pursuit. The homeowners are fearful that a third such event could result in serious injury or fatality.

NSW Police confirmed that an investigation into the crash is underway. A Safe Driver Panel will review the officers' actions, and the police are working with their insurance provider to manage the necessary repairs.
