A woman identified as Christine Kulis, 39, tragically lost her life after being attacked by her pit bull mastiff cross dog in Whyalla, South Australia. This fatal incident occurred approximately two weeks after the same dog had previously mauled her, causing significant injuries to her arm that necessitated hospitalization. Friends and family had urged Ms. Kulis to euthanize the animal due to its aggressive nature.
Ms. Kulis was reportedly suffering from a terminal illness, specifically cirrhosis of the liver, and had been warned by doctors about her declining health due to alcoholism. Despite her condition, she apparently did not want to have the dog put down. Neighbours had previously reported the dog for aggressive behavior, with allegations that it had attacked pets and been seen near children foaming at the mouth.
