Missing Pilot's Plane Located Underwater in Kawartha Lakes

A pilot, 73-year-old David, who was reported missing on Friday, has been found dead. His aircraft was located underwater in Wolfe Lake, within Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park, after an extensive search effort. Debris was first recovered on Monday, followed by the submerged aircraft on Tuesday.
David had departed from Oshawa Executive Airport on Friday morning, expecting to return within an hour, but never arrived. He was last seen in the Balsam Lake area. The search and rescue operation was coordinated by the Trenton Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and involved various agencies, including the OPP and the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under investigation by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. The OPP extended condolences to the pilot's family and thanked the public for their assistance.
