An Air India flight traveling from Vancouver to Delhi experienced a severe medical emergency mid-air when a 70-year-old passenger, Dalbir Singh, became critically ill with chest pain and restlessness. The pilots were forced to make an emergency landing at Kolkata airport on Friday evening to seek immediate medical attention.
Upon landing, Singh was quickly transported to a local hospital. Tragically, medical professionals pronounced him dead shortly after arrival. Airport authorities then coordinated the transfer of the body for a postmortem examination, while also facilitating the continuation of the flight's journey.
