2 Mar
Summary
- Inquiry into fatal mid-air paramotor collision is set to resume.
- Camera operator Dan Burton died following the incident in 2021.
- Survivor Sacha Dench will give evidence at the Tain Sheriff Court.

The Fatal Accident Inquiry into the death of camera operator Dan Burton is scheduled to resume. Mr. Burton, aged 54, tragically lost his life in September 2021 following a mid-air collision between his paramotor and one piloted by his colleague, Sacha Dench. The incident occurred near Loch Na Gainmhich in Sutherland.
Ms. Dench, an Australian adventurer known as the "human swan" for her unique paramotor journeys, survived the collision but sustained severe injuries. At the time of the accident, she was undertaking a 3,000-mile challenge to circumnavigate Britain by paramotor, aiming to raise awareness for climate change ahead of the Cop26 conference.
Evidence has previously been heard during earlier hearings in May of last year and January of this year. Ms. Dench is anticipated to give her testimony when the inquiry restarts at Tain Sheriff Court on Monday. Mr. Burton was originally from Devon.
