Paramedic Mary Jolly, 27, passed away on November 15th following a tragic incident on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, Florida. While off-duty, Jolly and her wife stopped to assist an individual injured in an earlier crash.
Tragically, as Jolly was in the center lane to help, she was struck by a Nissan Murano. She was transported to a Florida hospital but died two days later. Jolly had been a valued member of Gaston County EMS in North Carolina since 2021 and was honored as B-Shift Outstanding Paramedic in 2023.
Her loss has deeply impacted the Gaston County EMS community, with colleagues describing her as family and praising her dedication and compassion. The fatal crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
