A paramedic sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle collision involving an ambulance in Pyecombe, West Sussex. The incident occurred on Thursday, shortly after 17:00 GMT, on the A273 near Brighton.
South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed the collision. The patient inside the ambulance was safely transferred to another vehicle to complete their journey to the hospital. The injured paramedic was taken to a hospital for assessment and has since been released.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash, including whether the ambulance was using blue lights and sirens, is being conducted by South East Coast Ambulance Service and Sussex Police. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
