Tragic Road Accident Claims Panchayat Secretary and Wife

A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday night near Natham in Dindigul district, resulting in the deaths of Senthilvel, the 55-year-old secretary of Kottaiyur panchayat, and his 45-year-old wife, Mathivathani. The couple was fatally struck by a car while they had stopped by the roadside. Their 16-year-old daughter, Harini, suffered serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Madurai.

The family was traveling on the Natham-Sendurai Road in their own car after attending a function. According to police reports, another car, driven by Sevugaperumal, 32, allegedly at high speed, lost control and collided with the stationary family. Senthilvel and Mathivathani were pronounced dead at the scene, while Harini received immediate medical attention at Natham Govt Hospital before being transferred to Madurai for further care. Natham police have registered a case and are actively investigating the accident.
