A significant recall has been issued for over 200,000 Ozark Trail tabletop camping stoves due to serious safety concerns. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on November 26, 2025, following numerous reports of the stoves exploding or catching fire. These dangerous incidents led to 16 reported injuries, with some individuals suffering second-degree burns.
The affected model is the Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping Stove, identified by model number BG2247A1. These dark green stoves, featuring an orange Ozark Trail logo, were available for purchase at Walmart stores and online. Sales occurred between March 2023 and October 2025, with prices ranging from $8 to $45.
Consumers who own these stoves are strongly advised to cease using them immediately. The CPSC recommends returning the product to Walmart for a full refund. While the recall was issued in late 2025, product recalls typically do not have an end date, emphasizing the ongoing need for consumer caution.
