A mother and her teenage daughter were killed in western Oklahoma when a violent tornado struck, lifting their vehicle into the air. Jodie Owens, 47, and her daughter Lexi, 13, were found deceased late Thursday night near Fairview in Major County.
Authorities believe the deadly tornado, part of a powerful storm system, caused the fatalities. Owens was reportedly urging her other children at home to take shelter when the storm hit, with her daughter on the phone hearing her mother's last cry before the line went dead.
