8 Dec
Summary
- Two security guards died from toxic fumes in a closed watch room.
- They lit a fire to stay warm, leading to a dangerous gas buildup.
- One guard is critical; the other succumbed after being hospitalized.

A fatal incident occurred in Noida's Sector 47 last week, where two security guards inhaled toxic fumes within a closed watch room. The guards, employed by Group Four security, reportedly lit a fire in an iron pan to stay warm during their night duty. As the enclosed room lacked adequate ventilation, poisonous gases, likely carbon monoxide, accumulated.
Upon arriving for the morning shift, a colleague discovered the guards unconscious and alerted management. They were rushed to a hospital, where one guard, identified as 55-year-old Dhirendra Kumar, was pronounced dead. His colleague, 42-year-old Dinesh Kumar, is currently in critical condition.
Authorities suspect suffocation as the primary cause of death and are awaiting the autopsy report for further confirmation. Dhirendra, a resident of Noida for a decade, leaves behind two children. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with further action contingent on the post-mortem findings and any complaint filed by the families.
