Mehta's car plunged into an unmarked ditch near his Gurugram workplace late on a Friday night. This fatal event occurred at the same location where truck driver Gurvinder Singh narrowly escaped death two weeks prior. He recounted being rescued by locals after his truck fell into the water, and alleged that authorities later questioned him about the cost of damage to a wall.
The repeated accidents at this hazardous spot have intensified scrutiny over the Noida administration's safety measures and emergency response protocols. In response, the government has formed a three-member Special Investigation Team, and the CEO of the Noida authority has been removed from his post.
