Two pedestrians were struck by an NJ Transit bus in Hackensack on the evening of Tuesday, September 8th. The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near 170 State Street.
One woman, a resident of Palisades Park, sustained minor injuries. The other, from Ridgefield, experienced significant leg injuries, having been pinned beneath the bus's wheel. Both were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, and their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities issued a summons to the NJ Transit bus driver for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk. First responders from Hackensack PD, NJ Transit police, the Hackensack fire department, and Hackensack University Medical Center Ambulance were present to assist the victims.
