Nigeria has initiated a critical search and rescue operation following the crash of a military aircraft in the country's southwest region. The ATR-42 plane, carrying 32 individuals including seven crew members, disappeared while on a routine flight from Benin to Lagos.
Contact with the aircraft was lost at 09:13 local time, and subsequent radio attempts were unsuccessful. The wreckage has since been located near the naval base in Igbokoda, Ondo state.
