A second power failure occurred early Saturday morning, September 19th, leading to further delays in clear-water pumping. These successive outages resulted in nearly 10 hours of disruption to the Pench water systems, which supply around 540 MLD and serve approximately 70% of the city.
The timing of the disruptions significantly affected residents during the Mahalaxmi Puja and Ganapati festivals, impacting household arrangements and scheduled prasad distributions. Officials from Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Orange City Water Limited are prioritizing affected areas and working towards normalizing supply.
The repeated power interruptions have raised concerns about the reliability of electricity supply to critical water infrastructure, especially during the ongoing festival season.
