Power Failure Disrupts Nagpur Water Supply
13 Jun
Summary
- Power outage at Navegaon pumping station impacts water treatment.
- Water supply affected in multiple zones across Nagpur city.
- Morning supply on June 13, 2026, may also be impacted.

Water treatment and distribution operations in Nagpur have been significantly impacted due to a major power failure. The outage occurred at the Navegaon raw water pumping station following a fault at the Mansar substation of MSEDCL. This station is the sole source of raw water for the Gorewada and Godhani water treatment plants, which in turn supply all four Pench water treatment plants. The interruption in raw water pumping has led to reduced availability of treated water across the city. Efforts are underway to coordinate with MSEDCL for the earliest restoration of power. Once power is back, pumping operations will resume, followed by efforts to stabilize the water treatment and distribution systems. Citizens in several areas experienced low water pressure or temporary disruptions on Friday evening. If power is not restored by tonight, the morning water supply scheduled for June 13, 2026, is also at risk of being affected. Consumers are advised to use water judiciously during this period. Affected areas include Laxmi Nagar, Dharampeth, Hanuman Nagar, Dhantoli, Nehru Nagar, Gandhibagh, Satranjipura, Ashi Nagar, and Mangalwari zones.
