A devastating incident in Malad, Mumbai, has resulted in the death of 26-year-old Vinita Gupta, an employee of a Business Process Management company. Gupta succumbed to severe injuries on Tuesday morning, days after being hit by a speeding car last Friday.
The accident happened as Gupta was leaving her office premises with colleagues for a tea break near Mindspace. A car traveling at high speed struck her, causing critical injuries to her head and body.
Onlookers apprehended the driver who attempted to flee the scene. Authorities discovered liquor bottles inside the vehicle, suggesting impairment. The accused driver, Gulbir Gurudev Singh, faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including causing death by a rash or negligent act.
