Mumbai: Young Woman's Life Cut Short in Truck Accident

A 20-year-old woman, Nazneen Khan, lost her life in a devastating road accident in Jogeshwari West, Mumbai, late Friday night. She was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by her friend, Hafiz Tanwar, when a cement mixer truck reportedly collided with their bike on Veera Desai Road, resulting in fatal injuries to Khan. The truck driver has been arrested.

The incident occurred around 9:30 PM on December 5th. Khan, who worked at a grocery store, and Tanwar, a salesman, had met up earlier that evening. As Tanwar was dropping Khan home, he attempted to overtake a cement mixer truck near the Gundecha signal. The truck driver allegedly swerved left, causing the motorcycle to fall. Tragically, the truck's rear wheel ran over Nazneen Khan's head.

Khan was rushed to Cooper Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Tanwar sustained minor injuries. The truck driver, Sikander Pandit, was taken into custody by the Amboli police and faces charges under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita section for causing death by negligence. He was later released on bail.
