Mumbai Flooded: Tree Fall Kills Shop Owner

Mumbai experienced extremely heavy rainfall, recording over 200 mm in a 12-hour period. This intense downpour resulted in widespread flooding across the city. Tragically, during the relentless rain, a large tree collapsed in the Kurla area, resulting in the death of Yunus Sheikh. Witnesses reported that Sheikh had recently purchased a shop and was at the location preparing for its opening ceremony when the incident happened. The unfortunate event has brought to the forefront serious questions regarding the municipal corporation's preparedness for the monsoon season and the inadequate maintenance of trees that pose a risk to public safety.
