The driver reported that smoke suddenly began to emanate from the bonnet. He immediately parked the car and exited safely just moments before it erupted in flames.
No injuries were sustained during the event. Police have registered an accidental fire case to investigate the exact cause of the blaze. The driver's personal belongings, including his mobile phone, clothes, and bag, were destroyed in the fire. The department had recently introduced 633 new SUV vehicles, and this particular vehicle was among them.
