A routine elevator ride in a Mumbai high-rise turned into a frightening ordeal on July 16. A woman entered a lift with her pet dog, only for the animal to suddenly attack three girls already inside. The terrifying encounter, lasting about 60 seconds, was recorded by the building's CCTV cameras.
The footage shows the dog lunging repeatedly at the frightened girls, who desperately tried to move away. The owner struggled to restrain her pet within the confined space. Two of the girls managed to flee when the lift doors opened on the next floor, but one was cornered.
Despite the owner's efforts, the dog continued to bark and attempt to reach the remaining girl. As she finally escaped, her phone fell inside the lift. The owner attempted to return the phone, but the dog again lunged, causing the owner to fall. The lift doors closed shortly after.
While no one sustained serious injuries, the viral CCTV footage has raised significant concerns regarding the safe handling of pets in residential buildings.
