Two separate accidents involving heavy vehicles in Mulund on Saturday resulted in a fatality and serious injuries to a pedestrian.
A 35-year-old man, Suresh Rajput, was fatally struck by a dumper truck in Mulund West. Despite being rushed to Agarwal Hospital, he succumbed to severe injuries. The dumper driver reportedly fled the scene, and a case has been registered against the unidentified driver.
In a second incident, an elderly woman, Chudamadevi Saduttaran Gupta, was critically injured after being hit by a heavy vehicle near the Mulund Check Naka bus depot. She sustained a head injury causing brain trauma and is being treated at Agarwal Hospital. The bus driver involved has been booked by the police.
