Authorities in Texas have identified Kaden Mathias Arena, 23, of Amarillo, as the motorcyclist who tragically died after his vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer on Wednesday morning. The incident took place near Amarillo on FM 1151. Investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety suggest Arena was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed.
The tractor-trailer, driven by Jose Angel Romero Medrano, 33, was southbound and preparing to turn left onto the SL 335 entrance ramp. It is believed that the truck driver did not see the approaching motorcycle and turned into its path, causing the collision.
Arena was transported to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital with critical injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead. The investigation continues to determine if any other factors contributed to the fatal crash.
