A devastating road accident in Gorakhpur's Barhalganj area on Friday claimed the lives of a mother and her teenage son. Bindu Devi (42) and her elder son Suraj Yadav (18) were en route to Azamgarh to purchase medicines when a speeding trailer collided with their motorcycle near the Ramnagar police outpost.
The impact was severe, resulting in immediate fatalities for both Bindu Devi and Suraj. Their bodies were tragically cremated together on the same pyre, intensifying the grief in Belwa Dekhli village.
Rajkumar Yadav, the husband and father who works in Dubai, returned to his village upon hearing the news to perform the last rites. The couple's younger son, 12-year-old Chandan, was inconsolable, his cries deeply affecting mourners.
Hundreds of villagers and relatives attended the cremation, sharing in the family's profound sorrow and remembering the mother and son who had left home just a day earlier.
